Sunshine Botanicals Wins Natural Solutions Magazine’s “Beauty With a Conscience Awards Editor Picks!” for 2008
Out of the hundreds of natural products that passed the criteria necessary to be considered for this years award, according to the editor of Natural Solutions Magazine, Sunshine Botanicals  stood head and shoulders above the rest….Wow!  What an honor!  This review and award (in her own words) are listed below…

Congratulations! You have earned our admiration for combining healthy ingredients and sustainable processes with the luxury and indulgence of high-end skincare. On behalf of our mission—and yours—we are proud to have launched these awards. Our Beauty With a Conscience awards not only honor the companies on the frontlines of natural skincare, but help women choose the healthiest beauty products available. Knowing the link between the unnecessary toxin exposure in many beauty products and serious health concerns, we made the conscious decision to host our awards in October in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Let’s get the word out that women don’t have to sacrifice health in the name of beauty.  Please look for your personalized award to arrive in the mail in the coming weeks.  Thank you for making it easier for women to be beautiful - naturally.

Yours in Health and Beauty,

Pumpkin Enzymes + Natural Skin Brighteners = An Amazing Transformation!

When I found Emily, or should I say when she found me, I had suffered from numerous staph infections on my skin for years. My doctor would prescribe antibiotics, which would make it go away for a while - then it came right back. By the time I heard about Emily, I had taken about 6 different rounds of antibiotics and was still right back where I started. When the sores on my face finally healed, I was left with scars and discoloration from the staph that were amplified by chicken pox scars that I developed as a child. I thought I would just have to live with this and cover it up with lots of make up.

The Future of Skin Lightening Ingredients: Botanicals Take Center Stage
In years past, hydroquinone was the standard ingredient for skin lightening treatments. It was thought to be the safest and most effective treatment for hyperpigmentation, age spots, melasma, sun damage and other discolorations. However, new research suggests that there may be serious side effects associated with long term use of synthetic hydroquinone, including recent research showing that it is a neurotoxin, and show links to developmental and reproductive toxicity.

The FDA has announced its plans to remove hydroquinone based products from store shelves and limit its use to prescription only based medications. Fortunately, there are some amazing botanical ingredients that mimic the skin lightening properties of hydroquinone - with no toxic side effects. Ingredients such as kojic acid and licorice have become quite popular along with more advanced ingredients like l-Arbutin, glutathione, n-acetyl glucosomine and niacinamide. When combined, these ingredients can often produce results that even surpass hydroquinone but without the associated risks.

Beautiful Skin from the Inside Out: ProBiotics to the Rescue

Digestive system problems are more prevalent than ever. The National Digestive Diseases Clearinghouse estimates between 60 million to 70 million people are affected by various forms of digestive disorders. Digestive diseases are the manifestation of poor diets, improper digestion, stressful lifestyles, side effects of various medications, and toxins in the food supply. The ultimate result is a poorly nourished body leading to chronic degenerative disease.

The health of the Bacteria System has its most obvious impact on the health of the intestines and the skin, but it also impacts virtually every body structure and function. For example:

  • normal, healthy skin
  • healthy immune system
  • cholesterol levels
  • urinary health
  • bowel function
  • digestion
  • dairy tolerance
  • detoxification
  • normal body flora
  • inflammation
  • allergies
  • acne
  • asthma
  • eczema

About the Founder

Dear Emily,
I have had these hard, little bumps on the backs of my arms ever since I was 13 years old. The skin is very dry and feels rough and pebbly to the touch, with a little reddish undertone. I like to wear sleeveless blouses, and often don't because I feel so self conscious about my arms. Can you provide and insight on this condition? Is there anything that can get rid of this? Thanks for you help.
